Tripo DCC Bridge for ZBrush: Installation & Quick Start

Tripo3D ZBrush Bridge is a lightweight plugin that connects ZBrush directly to the Tripo Studio. With this bridge, you can send generated models from the browser straight into ZBrush with minimal effort—no manual downloads required. Once ZBrush receives the file, you just need to click to import it, and the model will be automatically saved into your Lightbox. This streamlined process helps artists and designers focus on modeling and scene assembly rather than file management.

Requirements

  • OS: Windows, Mac
  • ZBrush: 2026+
  • Browser:
    • Supports Google Chrome 116+, Edge 116+, Opera 102+
    • Other browsers are not supported
  • Default Import Settings:
    • Pivot: Center Bottom
    • Auto Material Creation: Enabled
    • Auto Asset Placement: Enabled
    • Vextex color: Enable

Step-by-Step Installation

Step 1:

Go to Tripo Studio and download the Tripo3D ZBrush Bridge package.

Step 2:

Extract the downloaded package. Inside Tripo3D_ZBrush_Bridge folder, you will see:

  • Tripo3DBridgeData (folder)
  • Tripo3DBridge.zsc (file)

Copy both the folder and the file into ZBrush's plugin directory, then paste the copied items directly into the plugins directory:

(example)

  • Windows: C:\Program Files\Maxon ZBrush 2026\ZData\ZPlugs64
  • macOS: /Applications/Maxon ZBrush 2026/ZData/ZPlugs64

Step 3:

Launch or restart ZBrush to load the newly installed plugin. You should see the Tripo Bridge appear in your ZBrush ZPlugin menu.

Click Open Panel. When the panel is opened, the Bridge service starts automatically. Once the Connect button becomes active, it means the ZBrush Bridge service has been started on the ZBrush side.

Click the pin button (top-left corner of the panel) to dock the UI to the right side of the application.

The Bridge service must remain running while connecting to the web browser. Do not close ZBrush and keep the Connect button active during model transfer.

Step 4:

Click Check Connection button to verify the connection between the ZBrush Bridge and the Tripo Studio web page.

If a popup shows "Bridge status: listening", this means the web side has not yet started the Bridge service.

Open the Tripo Studio website in your browser, click the DCC Bridge button, and activate the ZBrush plugin.

At this point, check the connection status. It should show "Bridge status: connected".

Select a model. Press the Export button in the mini window. When the transfer is complete, you will be prompted to receive the model asset in the ZBrush plugin.

Step 5:

Once the transfer from Tripo Studio is complete, the model will be sent to a temporary pending folder. In the Tripo Bridge panel, click the Import Pending button to import the model into ZBrush.

You can now see the model in ZBrush's Tool palette and LightBox.

You will find the imported Tripo model in LightBox/Tool/Tripo.

FAQs

Q: What if I don't import the pending model immediately after sending it from the website?

A: The model will be temporarily saved locally. You can press the Import Pending button to import it at any time. You can also press the Pending Dir button in the plugin to locate the temporary folder on your local drive.

Q: How do I switch the language of Tripo Bridge?

A: Navigate to the plugin directory and open the Tripo3DBridgeData folder. Find lang.txt and change the text to your desired language code: en, fr, jp, es, de, zn, or ko. (For example, if you want Chinese, simply type zn in the file.) Save and restart ZBrush.

Q: Can I transmit data to multiple ZBrush instances simultaneously?

A: No. The connection only recognizes the first ZBrush launched.
