The L09X Artefact Collector Units are a project I’ve been interested in for a while - a grounded evolution that came from inspirations like Wall-E and I am Legend, but built with a more realistic, industrial approach to robotics. Originally designed in the 2040s as search-and-rescue automatons for disasters, these humanoid and quadruped units were left behind when humanity abandoned Earth for Mars and Venus in the 2050s. Without recall or shutdown, their adaptive systems evolved, and their purpose shifted. Now operating in coordinated pairs, they traverse overgrown, decaying cities—one observing and cataloguing, the other searching and retrieving - collecting fragments of everyday human life: objects once meaningless, now carrying the weight of an entire species. These artefacts are stored in underground Museum Vaults, not as exhibits, but as acts of preservation. As nature reclaims the world above, the L09X units continue their quiet mission—not to rebuild or replace humanity, but to remember it.
