Station 3: The Green Protocol

Akshay · 2026/04/10

Description

This design is based on a Mars habitat system where multiple stations manage survival, with Station 3 focused on agriculture. The concept is inspired by the need for a self-sustaining ecosystem in extreme environments, combining robotics with controlled biological processes. The humanoid robot’s design is kept minimal and largely unmodified to preserve its ability to interact naturally with objects just like a human would. By avoiding unnecessary structural changes, it maintains precise control, flexibility, and familiarity in movement, which is crucial for handling delicate plants and operating sensitive systems. This minimal approach also reduces potential failure points and ensures reliability in the harsh Martian environment, where simplicity and functionality matter more than complexity The robotic dog is designed as a support unit with a modular tray system. It can carry and swap multiple trays for plants, water, tools, or other resources, allowing it to fetch, refill, and continue tasks efficiently. Key highlights include a minimal, durable design, modular functionality, and seamless integration between both robots. The design fits the models by enhancing precision, reliability, and continuous operation within Station 3 and the Green Protocol.
